The purpose of homework is to
reinforce concepts and skills learned in class. Students demonstrate
understanding when they can independently demonstrate mastery.
Class time is not usually sufficient to accomplish this. Therefore,
students have math homework almost every day. It should not take
more than 20 minutes.
Homework completion is assessed as part of "Responsibility
for learning" on report cards. However, homework can be graded
and included as part of the grade. If homework is not completed
at the beginning of class, it is considered incomplete and the
agenda book is stamped "Missing Work" over the assignment not
done.
Since homework assignments are so dependent
upon what is covered daily in class, the assignments will be
posted on my homework board in my classroom rather than on this
website. |
