Requirements    
Students are expected to read two books per month. An updated reading log should be maintained and kept in the LA folder. Extra credit can be earned by reading more than is required.

Vocabulary
Vocabulary tests are bi-weekly. "Vocabulary words in the real world." — Find your vocab words in books, magazines, or the newspaper and earn extra credit.

Written Work

Although persuasive writing is reviewed, students are required to write a variety of pieces with an emphasis on strategies for revision. Work is graded for content as well as grammar, usage, and mechanics.
