Dear Parents:
Welcome to this very busy month! The month of March features Connecticut Mastery Testing, After School Clubs and our annual Ensemble Night. Please find listed below important activities taking place during the month of March.
• Connecticut Mastery Test – Connecticut Mastery Testing will take place for students in both Grades 5 and 6 this month. Testing will begin for all students on Tuesday, March 2nd and is scheduled to be completed on Tuesday, March 16th. Please support your youngster by making sure they are well rested and have a good breakfast before arriving at school. It is also extremely important that students arrive to school on time as testing will take place in the morning. Thank you for your support.
• After School Clubs – Our After School Club program will begin on Tuesday, March 2nd and will continue until mid April. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Karen Buckley Bates at 860 349-3075.
• Report Cards for the second marking period will be distributed on Friday, March 19th. Please note that Wednesday, March 24th and Thursday, March 25th are full days of school at Memorial Middle School. Parent conferences take place at grades K – 4 only.
• Please note that we have over thirty students who have lunch IOU’s with the cafeteria. Please make every effort to ensure your child pays back money owed to the cafeteria.
• Our Parent Council meting will take place on Monday, March 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the
Library/Media Center. Superintendent of Schools Susan Viccaro will attend this meeting to discuss the upcoming 2010-2011 budget. Please attend!
• The Memorial Middle School Ensemble Night will take place on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the gymnasium at our school. Please attend and enjoy our instrumentalists as they perform in ensemble groups. Performances by the jazz band and select chorus will also be featured. Please join us for this evening of entertainment.
• Grade 5 TGIF Night – Our next TGIF Night for Grade 5 students will take place on Friday, March 26th from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. All students must have a signed permission slip to attend. Permission slips will be distributed later this month.
