| The
5th Grade Computer students are working on a unit about Halloween.
They are using their information in several different programs
to create a Madlib Story.
They
are first brainstorming and organizing their information using Inspiration into
nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, etc.
And
then they are writing their story using Microsoft Word inserting the words into
blanks left open for the specific words.
Here are examples
of students' stories. Hope you enjoy them! |

TRICK OR TREAT!
I
am really looking forward to Halloween. I love carving peas,
watching for black dogs, and telling spooky desk stories.
Most of all, though, I love Trick-or-treating!
This year, I am going as a computer. I am going to
dye my hair pink, wear an old beautiful shirt, and
stick food on top of my head. It will be the coolest costume
you have ever seen!
At each doorstep I will skip and say "trick-or-pen"
as sadly as I can. Then, hopefully, the person will drop
something nice into my treat sack! Of course, there
is always some athletic lady who hands out flowers,
and there is nothing you can do about it. You just say thanks and run along
to the next house as quickly as possible. |
TRICK OR TREAT!
I
am really looking forward to Halloween. I love carving peppers,
looking for black cats, and telling spooky chocolate stories.
Most of all, though, I love trick-or-treating!
This
year, I am going to be a ghost.
I am going to dye my hair orange, wear an old ugly shirt,
and stick a witch on top of my head. It will be the biggest costume
you have ever seen!
At
each doorstep I will sprint and
say "trick or skeleton" as silly as
I can. Then, hopefully, the person will drop something tiny into
my treat sack! Of course, there is always some weird lady
who hands out goblins, and there is nothing you can
do about it. You just say thanks and leap along to
the other house as quickly as possible. |
TRICK OR TREAT!
I
am really looking forward to Halloween. I love carving carrots watching
for black squirrels, and telling spooky Florida stories.
Most of all, though, I love trick-or-treating!
This
year, I am going as Niagara
Falls. I am going to dye my hair green, wear an old rain shirt,
and stick a leaf on top of my head. It will be the loudest costume
you have ever seen!
At
each doorstep I will skip and
say "trick-or-turkey" as madly as I can.
Then, hopefully, the person will drop something funny into
my treat sack! Of course, there is always some weird lady
who hands out ponies, and there is nothing you can do about
it. You just say thanks and dance along to the next house
as quickly as possible. |
TRICK OR TREAT!
I am really looking forward to Halloween.
I love carving asparagus, watching for black platypuses,
and telling spooky mailbox stories. Most of all, though,
I love trick-or-treating!
This
year, I am going as a tongue.
I am going to dye my hair light magenta, wear an old yucky shirt,
and stick on a bamboo stalk on top of my head.
It will be the scariest costume you have ever seen!
At
each doorstep I will wiggle and
say "trick-or-houses" as stupidly as I
can.
Then, hopefully, the person will drop something stately into
my treat sack! Of course, there is always some slimy lady
who hands out tables, and there is nothing you can do about
it. You just say thanks and think along to the next
house as quickly as possible. |
TRICK OR TREAT
I
am really looking forward to Halloween. I love carving carrots,
watching for black horses, and telling spooky ocean stories.
But most of all though love trick or treating!
This
year, I am going as a dog.
I am going to dye my hair blue, wear an old funny shirt
and stick a cat on my head. It will be the largest costume
you have ever seen!
At
each doorstep I will ride and
say "trick-or-food" as loudly as
I can. Then hopefully the person will drop something pretty into
my treat sack. Of course, there is always some weird lady
who hands out plants, and there is nothing you can do about
it. You just say thanks and play along to the next house
as quickly as possible. |
TRICK-OR-TREAT
I am really looking forward to Halloween. I love carving mushrooms,
watching out for black monkeys, and telling spooky thunder stories.
Most of all, thought, I love trick-or-treating!
This year I am going as fire. I am going to dye my
hair green, and wear an old athletic shirt,
and stick water on the top of my head. It will be
the coolest costume you have ever seen!
At each doorstep I will run and say "trick-or-eggs"
as roughly as I can. Then hopefully the person will
drop something serious into my trick-or-treat bag.
Of course, there is always some nice lady who hands
out computers, and there is nothing you can do about
it. You just say thanks and laugh along to the next
house as quickly as possible. |
