Our 4th graders are transforming the gym into a Colonial Village. Blacksmiths, inn keepers, millers, wig makers, etc. will be dressed in authentic clothing while explaining their occupation and what role they played in the village. Next, a docent will visit from Plimoth Plantation to further enhance their knowledge of the 1620's. These events lead up to the culminating activity; our trip to Plymouth, MA. This day will be filled with the exploration of Plimoth Plantation, the Mayflower, Plymouth Rock, and the Jenny Grist Mill. |

Our 3rd graders continue their study of their communities. The last 2 classes will be traveling through Middlefield seeing the historical landmarks, visiting the Historical Society and the Town Hall. This tour is facilitated by Mr. Hubbard. Next all the classes will be going on a walking tour of Durham where they will also see historical landmarks, visit the antique farm equipment housed at the Durham Fair, and visit the Town Hall. |

Both the third and fourth grade students continue their study of a forest ecosystem with Mrs. Klattenberg. The third graders enjoy nature walks recording in their journals the changes they observe happening on the trail during the spring season. The fourth graders will go to Allyn Brook Park to do an in dept study of the brook's ecosystem as well as the forest around it. |

Third graders travel to the New Britain Museum of American Art to see art work created by artist that they have studied in class. They will also compare the different styles of paintings, see the various types of art (paintings, sculptures, pottery, mobiles, etc.) and just enjoy the experience of going to a museum. |

Korn students are always incorporating
the Core Values; Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Kindness,
and Courage into
their everyday lives. Each month we focus on one of the
Core Values. During March students will get their names
on the Core Values board when seen by an adult practicing one of the Core Values . |
