writing Writing in Third Grade

Writers develop into great writers by writing!

Third graders become budding authors as they use their imaginations to express their ideas through narrative writing. Instruction designed to build a solid foundation for process writing teaches the application of basic skills. Students use the writing process to revise and publish their work. This includes developing a rich vocabulary, a fluent style with strong organization, sequencing, and well elaborated supporting details. Editing skills (capitalization, punctuation, and grammar) are applied to all written work.
