Coginchaug High School Parent Groups

CRHS Parents Forum  is an informal group that meets about five times a year to entertain discussion on any topic relevant to the CRHS community. There is no fundraising and no pleading

for volunteers, but all parents are encouraged to attend to ask questions or comment on their child’s experience at Coginchaug. Our meetings for the 2009-2010 school year will be on Tuesday 10/13, Thursday 11/12, Tuesday 1/19, Monday 2/22 and Thursday 4/22.  Meetings are held in the CRHS

library at 7pm.  Karen Meiman leads this group and can be reached at akmeiman@sbcglobal.net.

Vinal-Coginchaug Hawks Gridiron Club is a group of parents of football players and cheerleaders who support the programs at the schools.  We raise funds through the program, cheesecake sales, raffles, uniform maintenance fees, apparel sales, and we even parked cars at

the Fair for the past two years.  We use those funds to provide cookouts for the team after scrimmages, pregame meals, a banquet at the end of the season, uniforms for the football team, other apparel for both squads, and additional items to enhance the program such as chutes, sled pads, announcer,

and first aid kits.  We also provide a chain gang for the home games.  We meet weekly during the

season and twice a month in the summer.  Please contact Pete Donecker 349-4046.

Coginchaug Track Supporters (CTS) supports the cross-country, indoor and outdoor track athletic programs at Coginchaug Regional High School as well as track interests in the general community.  The organization is made up of parents, alumni, and concerned citizens in the Durham-Middlefield community.  Our goals have been to support the athletes and coaches in their efforts

as well as to get a safe athletic facility installed.  Our activities since forming in the fall of 2007 include assisting with the Exchange Club's spaghetti dinner and providing food service for the Odyssey of the Mind to help raise funds for new uniforms for the teams.  We also circulate information related to the

track and athletic complex so people can take action if necessary.  We have sponsored a team picnic.  We also helped provide concessions for the "Run to the Sun".  New members are always welcome. Contacts: Susan Michael: 860-349-7215 ext. 235  smichael@rsd13.org   Anne Doyle  adoyle@rsd13.org
