Parents
of seniors will be notified at the end of each marking quarter
in the event of failure to meet graduation requirements.
Students
must take .25 credit per year of physical education and .25
credit per year for health education. Aside from the required
.25 credit per year for physical education, students must earn
at least one (1) additional credit in physical education in
order to meet graduation requirements. The additional one (1)
credit may be earned by taking physical education elective
courses and/or by participation on an athletic team for one
season. No student may apply more than two (2) credits of physical
education toward graduation.
Expectations
Able
students may be permitted to take a heavier than normal load
of courses so that they can complete the regular high school
program in less than four year's time.
Students
desiring an accelerated program will be required to submit
a request for approval to the principal prior to the beginning
of the second semester of the junior year.
Special
education students must fulfill the credit requirements for
graduation at a level determined by their Individualized Education
Program.
Students
may be exempted from the P.E. requirements (credits) for medical
reasons, but must still earn 26 credits (or the designated
number under the phase in process) in order to graduate.
Early
College Admission
The
Board of Education will award a diploma to any student who
has successfully completed the 11th grade and has successfully
completed at least one year at an accredited college.
All
students are required to carry a minimum schedule of 7 credits
per year. Exceptions can be granted only by the principal.
Students
planning to pursue a college education should take a program
which consists of 3 to 4 credits in the major academic courses
(including Foreign Language). Students planning to enter a
business or technical career may need additional courses as
well.
Students
and parents should map out a four year high school program
which will leave a student the maximum number of options. Please
consult with your counselor to create such a program.
Report Card Information
Report
cards are issued 4 times a year.
Students are responsible for bringing home Qtr. 1,
2, and 3 report cards while Qtr. 4 cards are mailed.
Progress reports are sent home to all students whose
performance indicates unsatisfactory or exceptional
progress; all freshmen receive
Qtr. 1 progress reports. (Dates will be adjusted
should there be school closings for inclement weather.) |

Freshmen
who meet standards in each of the areas will verify
thata competency with a sheet from the teacher. The
student will report to a designated area to have that
competency recorded.
Once
a student receives a passing score on a competency, the
student receives a verification slip from the teacher
who issued the passing score. The student then has the
responsibility of going to the media center to report
the score. The score is recorded only when the student
reports it with verification from the teacher. |
