Brewster School’s Environment |

St. Benedict’s Schools’ Environment
|
We have four seasons at Brewster School. We observed our squares during the season of Fall. The leaves were just changing colors. We live in a small country town with a lot of wooded areas. |
|
This school has bugs that are already hibernating. They have trees that seem to have lost their leaves and turned brown. They also have lots of litter on their school grounds. |

Comparing the Two Schools
|
| |
The school in Canada seemed to have Fall and Winter before us. Their bugs were already hibernating and their leaves were brown. At that time our leaves were just turning different colors. We are thinking that their school is in the city due to the amount of litter. We have exceptional custodians who keep our school very clean. We are about an hour from the water and we are wondering if they are near water due to the fact that they saw a seagull. |

Reasons For Similarities and Differences |
We both are in the North so we have trees that change color. We have lots of the same insects and our insects hibernate too. We also have spruce trees on our school grounds. We decided that we have similar insects and trees because we are on the same continent and located in the North.
We are different due to the fact that they are located farther North than us. Their Fall comes earlier than us. Their trees lose their leaves and turn colors before us. It must be colder there. |

Our Conclusions |
We concluded that Canada is colder than Connecticut. We decided that trees turn colors and lose their leaves before us. Also we think animals hibernate there earlier. We also think that they are located in a city due to the amount of litter on their school grounds. |
