Is your child too ill to go to school? How to decide...

Our school nurses:

  • Actively promote healthy life styles.
  • Provide health care counseling or guidance to students, their family, and to staff.
  • Identify health concerns by observation and assessment of needs and provide appropriate care.
  • Manage your child's medication while at school.
  • Verify immunization according to state guideline requirements.
  • Provide health screenings for vision, hearing, and scoliosis.

To ensure the medical safety of District #13 students, certain requirements are necessary for the transportation and administration of medications. Click here for more information.

Permission for Medication To Be Given at School (pdf)

  State law requires complete primary immunizations of our students. District #13 requires these immunizations in 6th grade and 10th grade. State law also mandates immunization against Hepatitis B and Varicella (chicken pox) prior to entry into 7th grade. Click here for more information.
Immunization Requirements

  Students entering Kindergarten and grades 6 and 10 are required to have a physical exam (along with proof of immunizations). Click here for more information.
Health Assessments

  Students participating in athletics at Strong School and CRHS must have a complete physical each year. Click here for more information.
