The relationship between curriculum and instruction is obviously a close one. As curriculum is the roadmap for learning and focuses on knowledge and skills, instruction is the means by which that learning will be achieved. Instructional best practices are general principles, guidelines, and suggestions for good and effective teaching that are supported by research. When data support the success of a practice, it is referred to as a research-based practice or scientifically based practice. To support teachers' in utilizing these instructional strategies, we offer professional development that is informed by research and school/classroom-based assessments. Appropriate resources are provided to implement effective classroom instruction.
