RSD13 has offered STEAM Camp sessions for three hours after school to our students in grades 1-6 during the early release days on 10/23, 12/6 and 1/12. Students were asked to think like engineers and partake in activities such as rocketry, learning about circuits with Little Bits and through designing and constructing paper circuit cards, coding, basketball shot analysis, making pumpkin catapults, painting with milk, chemical engineering slime, designing life-size gingerbread houses with cardboard and creating inventions with Makey Makey. All lessons integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math which also tie in the 4 C's of 21st Century Learning, Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity.
